Politics & religion: 2 subjects many prefer not to talk about. Not sure why there is a fear of discussing them although I guess the reluctance comes from not being able to come to absolute conclusions without disdaining the other person.I'm open to talking about almost anything because it helps me discover the other person. I've got some strong convictions like many people. However, I am so, so tired of all the emails I get criticizing some politician or political party. When does it end? No really, answer that. Honestly there's something wrong with most politicians. Even if you are an honest one doesn't mean you can deliver the things you promised because they have to work with others that will never cooperate without strings attached. What if we didn't rely on the government to insure the quality of our lives? Because it will always be easier to point fingers at a politician and blame them as the reason why I didn't take personal responsibility! Let's look back at all the people in office and guess what? Whether it was a democrat or republican didn't affect our lives very much. That probably sounds sacrilegious to some of you, but investigate it. I know that their policies have an effect on our futures and I'm not saying not to be involved in the process. What I am saying is, do what you can to help things cooperating to solve things. If any of you send me an email putting down a politician for his view, I want your solution to the matter- not as just a theory, but what are you doing about it? Example: instead of people protesting abortion, why not go to an expecting mother and offer to support and assist them so they will know they are not alone. Laws don't drive out fear, but love does. What say you?
